In the summer of 2023, SkyShowtime owning the exclusive streaming rights for Star Trek, Strange New Worlds, chose to launch the new series in a big way with one of the largest and most successful entertainment based stands at Comic Con Netherlands. 

To complement the immense outdoor and social media campaign we decided to design a unique fan experience in the form of a big pop-up exhibition displaying original show work costumes, props, and maquettes of the spaceships used in the series. To really create momentum, the leading star cast members of the show - Rebecca Romeijn (USA Chin-Riley) and Anson Mount (Captain Pike) flew in to host the opening of the exhibition as well as an exclusive screening of the first episode. Fans were able to take photos with the cast and in a social media Photo Booth to commemorate the experience and spread the word on social media. Well designed, exclusive “Star Trek suits” were also developed to draw in even more audience via social media sweepstakes.

At Comic Con Netherlands, 2024, the success of the previous year was followed up with another successful presence to serve fans of the show now in its second season, and keep momentum going.

One of the largest shopping centers of the Netherlands - Hoog Catherijne - also the location of Dutch Comic Con, was taken over by the Star Trek campaign. Just one example of placement form our campaign out of many (D)OOH placements around the country.

For the second year in a row, SkyShowtime had a big Star Trek presence at Dutch Comic Con in Utrecht, complementing a nationwide out of home campaign. A viral Fake out of home piece showing a star trek ship landing at the Utrecht Central station delighted social media followers everywhere. This pop-up event enabled fans to take photos in iconic Star Trek sets among other things.
